YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY CHRISTMAS! So basically, I need to load stuff here more. I've been so busy with my new job I've hardly had time to breathe. I work from 8:30 in the morning until 5:00 at night, and I run around so much that by the time I get home, I don't even want to THINK about taking pictures. But Christmas is coming and the goose is getting fat, so there will be some holiday pics. I missed out on the Thanksgiving pictures, but I promise some good Christmas ones. Our tree looks amazing. It's nearly done. I'm also going to be putting up the Christmas lights on our house, assuming it doesn't rain this weekend. Grrr. Darn rain.

In other news, I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! She's basically the most amazing person ever. And that's all I'm going to say about that.

But yes, as far as pictures are concerned, I'm going to upload a few today, including this one pic of some quiche. Being around so much food photography is getting to me. Grrr. But then again, I also get to help one of the other photographers here take pictures of families and babies. The babies are kinda my fav. It's my jobs to make them smile for the pics. xD They are always so much fun. I'm a people person, so it's much more up my alley. You don't get to do much with people with food photography besides chatting with the people involved with the food, but they are always busy. I love it, though. My boss gets a little cranky in is kinda stern when I do something wrong, but I don't let it bug me. He's good at what he does, even if he refuses to explain why he asks me to do certain things. I usually find out the reasoning later, but I'm not a mindless drone, and I like to know WHY I have to drive 50 miles round trip to get a single item from the grocery store instead of asking the company to send it to us. It's all good though. He's a decent person, even if he's sorta cranky. The other photographer, Diana, is really cool. She's the one who does weddings, family portraits, and baby pictures. She used to have my job, so she gives me lots of insight into the why and how to do better. The food stylists are really cool, too. Yes, food stylists. They arrange lettuce leaves and grains of rice with forceps. But yeah, they are really cool. Marti is really amazing with food, and she sometimes brings her dog, Tanner, with her to work. Ana is Marti's assistant, and she is really cool. If my boss, Jon, is particularly stressed out, she always checks to make sure that I'm not upset. Heather does most of the photoshop work here, and she's really cool. If Jon is cranky at her, she gets cranky right back. xD That's mostly everyone. I'm not so good at this whole secretary thing, but I'm getting better. And I'm finally bringing this place up to date with technology. My boss is a complete Luddite. But I finally convinced him to toss out his old printer and scanner and fax machine and get a brand new all in one that he can use wirelessly from all of his computers. xD Next step is to convince him to replace the two computers that are so old they still run Mac OS 9. It's sad. But now I must get back to work. I'm addressing envelopes by hand. Blarg. Until next time!

Alrighty, it's been a while. There's been a lot going on lately. I was in San Francisco and Santa Cruz in August, which is where I took my most recent pictures, and the biggest news of all...

*insert drum roll here*

I FINALLY GOT A JOB!!! YAY!!!

I now work in a photography studio as a receptionist and errand girl. Okay, so I don't get to take any pictures, but it's mostly food photography anyways. Not that I'm knocking it. The photos taken here go onto menus and advertisements and wrappers and coupons. All those pics that you never think about anyone taking, those are the ones we take. It's pretty sweet.

The truth of the matter is, though, I'm alone in the studio most of the time. I've been working here eight days so far, and I've been alone in the studio six of those eight days. If I were a cunning person, I would have my model, Lauren, come in, and we would make some good use of the studio. Unfortunately, I'm not a cunning individual, and Lauren is in college in Boston. *grumbles* I need to have my muse here to be at my beck and call. Tis frustrating because anyone I could ask is not nearby. VERY frustrating.

Okay, so I've FINALLY actually gotten around to taking pictures again. Long LONG story. BUT!!! Those pics of peopl are on their way. I'm so excited. The ideas are just buzzing around in my brain!!! Lauren will return, and you'll definitely be seeing more of Julie, not to mention a few other friends I'm pulling out of (or back into) the pool. YAY FOR SUMMER!!!

I'm also looking for a job. If anyone has any jobs for a poor photographer in SoCal, LEMME KNOW!!! I'm great with the animals and I'm getting pretty darn good at people.
